An official guarantee
The Label Rouge guarantee
Conceived in 1965, Label Rouge was the result of an initiative taken by a group of poultry breeders concerned with developing animal husbandry methods in keeping with their traditions that would also give the consumer a quality guarantee.
This guarantee is now the only official sign that certifies a level of quality superior to that of ordinary products of the same type: Label Rouge certifies that foodstuffs or unprocessed, non-food farm products “have special properties that establish a superior level of quality, resulting in particular from the way they are produced or manufactured in compliance with a specification that distinguishes them from similar commonplace products and foodstuffs” (article L.641-1 of the French Rural Code).
Label Rouge is not a stand-alone brand, but an official sign of superior quality that is complementary to the product’s collective brand.
